Hair colouring & chemical perm
The women’s colouring and chemical-treatment unit at Ketyswit Beauty is on the second floor of T1 Mall at Peterburi tee 2 — in a separate cabin area where the colour specialist can give a single client 1–4 uninterrupted hours. Three certified colourists have completed Wella Master Colour Expert, L’Oréal Professionnel Colorist and Schwarzkopf Igora training within the last 24 months. Pricing from €40 for a roots refresh, trend colouring €70+ (balayage, shatush, air touch). Material cost €0.4/gram is added on top of the service. A 24-hour patch test before the first colour is mandatory under Estonian hygiene regulations.

What we offer
Eight rows on the price list cover everything from a simple tone refresh to technical balayage. Single-tone colouring €50 + material — classic uniform result. Cut + single-tone colouring €65 is the most-booked combo — full colour change with a matching cut. Roots colour €40 is the 6–8-week refresh that keeps the existing length tone. Highlights €50–85 — classic foils depending on coverage (full head €85, face-framing €50). Trend colouring — Balayage, Shatush, Air Touch €70+ are technical “lived-in” procedures where colour placement follows natural hair rhythm. Chemical perm + cut €50–100 depending on length. Colour removal €30/hour is the starting fee when a client has a bad colour (home job or previous salon) and needs to reach “tabula rasa” before the new result. Material €0.4/gram is added to every colour service — 60-cm long hair consumes 60–80g on average (~€25–35), short hair 30–40g (~€12–16).
Balayage, Shatush, Air Touch — which technique fits you
Balayage is a “painted” result — colour placement is summer-sun-like, light ribbons follow face frames and root lateral leaving the in-between lower-tone for contrast. Suits any hair length, holds 6–10 weeks visually without maintenance. Shatush is the Italian “burnt” variant of balayage — higher tone contrast, sharper highlights; works better on dark hair than balayage. Air Touch is a newer 2024+ technique where the colourist “blows” the hair with a hair dryer to separate strands, then applies colour only to the thicker strands, leaving thin baby hairs natural — produces the most delicate “soft money piece” effect. Air Touch costs €80–120 depending on hair density and head shape.
Colour consultation before the procedure
For every first-time colour client we run a 15-minute consultation before booking — free of charge. The colourist evaluates: current tone (root + length + ends individually), hair strength (porosity test), prior colour history (henna? stripper bleach? colour tape?), the client’s desired outcome + Pantone colour wheel preview. Colour test strand €5 — a 1-cm test strand goes through the intended process to show the actual result before the full-head procedure. Recommended for clients going lighter or making a big tone change. The consultation lets the specialist pick the right approach (1-step vs 2-step bleach-and-tone vs balayage) and estimate the full time budget: short colour 1–2 hours, full lightening 4–6 hours.
Olaplex before colour — protecting the bond
Colouring slightly damages the hair fragment — that’s chemistry you can’t avoid. Olaplex Bond Multiplier is mixed into the colour at a 7:1 ratio — it rebuilds internal bonds during the colouring in real time. Result: the colour outcome is the same, but hair health afterwards is 60% better than without Olaplex. Add-on €15–25 by length. Recommended for clients who: lift four or more tones, colour every four weeks, have home-coloured in the past, or simply want maximum hair health. Olaplex No.3 at home twice a week is the follow-up maintenance.
Chemical perm — which system and how long it lasts
A chemical perm is a three-step chemistry that reprograms the internal hair structure to a chosen wave shape. We use Wella Form Lock, Schwarzkopf Perm Perfect or Lakmé Perm depending on hair type. Softer hair gets light waves lasting 4–6 months. Stronger hair gets denser curls lasting 6–8 months. Procedure runs 2–3 hours and includes a cut after drying so the curls follow the right shape. Price €50–100 perm + cut depending on length and curl density. No washing for 72 hours afterwards — the perm needs to settle. Patch test mandatory like colour — 24h before.
Aftercare after colour or perm
First 48 hours: no washing of coloured hair; the pigment is still bonding. Coloured hair shampoo Kérastase Bain Chromatique, Olaplex No.4 or Goldwell DualSenses Color — sulphate-free, colour-lock formulas. Mask once a week Olaplex No.3 or Schwarzkopf BC Color Freeze — restores the hair bond and shine. Heat protection before any blow dryer or straightener — always. Avoid chlorinated water (pools, hot tubs) for the first two weeks after colour — chlorine reacts with pigment and can shift the tone (especially on blonde). UV protection spray in summer keeps the colour fresh. After a perm: no washing for 72 hours, no heat styling for a week, hydration cream twice a week. Roots touch-up recommended every 6–8 weeks.
Why Ketyswit for colour
Specialised colourists — the cut specialist doesn’t do colour; separate three colourists, two of whom hold a Wella Master Colourist certificate. EU Cosmetic Regulation 1223/2009 certified Wella, L’Oréal Professionnel, Schwarzkopf colour; no Chinese or Indian new-brand stripper bleach. Olaplex Salon Partner status — official Olaplex certification and direct supply from the manufacturer. Colour continuity — our colourist follows your colour history in our client database for five-plus years so every refresh hits the same result. €5 colour test strand — every new colour client can see the real outcome before the full-head procedure. Patch test and consultation free for the first appointment.
FAQ
Can I go from brunette to blonde in one session? Depends on the current tone. From natural brunette you can reach platinum blonde in 1–2 sessions, 4–6 hours including toning. From home-coloured brunette we use Olaplex and incremental 2-step bleach over 2–3 sessions across 2–3 months to protect hair health.
Does balayage cost more on long hair? Yes — material is the add-on at €0.4/gram. Long hair consumes 80–120g, short hair 30–40g. Result + material: ~€110–140 on long hair, ~€80–100 on short.
Can I colour during pregnancy? During the first trimester we recommend skipping. After week 12 we use ammonia-free dyes (L’Oréal Inoa) — but check with your own doctor first.
Does Olaplex come with the colour price? No — it’s an add-on at €15–25. We recommend it on every bleach procedure and for clients whose hair is damaged by past colouring.
Can I come in for colour removal without new colour? Yes — colour removal €30/hour, typically 2–4 hours depending on layers. Afterwards we recommend a two-week pause before a new colour to let the hair recover.
2026 colour trends
The 2026 keyword is “lived-in colour” — colour that looks natural, without sharp root lines. Balayage and Air Touch are the dominant techniques. “Money piece” — separate face-framing highlights — is a popcorn-trend for clients who don’t want a full colour. Tones 2026: “mocha kiss” brown (Pantone 2025 Mocha Mousse rotation), “honey blonde”, “soft auburn”, “cool ash brunette”. “Smudge root” — where root colour is blended into the length colour for a “growing out beautifully” look — has become a standard finishing step on every balayage. Bright fashion tones (fox vermilion, cobalt blue) are less popular in 2026 than in 2023; the market is moving towards natural finishes.
Material provenance
Wella Koleston Perfect ME+ and Color Touch (German-made) are the European colour standards since the 1960s. L’Oréal Inoa (France, ammonia-free) is the classic option for sensitive clients and post-pregnancy use. Schwarzkopf Igora Royal (Germany) — for experimental colours (Vibrants, Fashion Lights). Olaplex Bond Multiplier (USA) is the patented bond restoration system. All registered under EU Cosmetic Regulation 1223/2009 with public INCI composition on request. We do not stock Indian, Chinese or Turkish import brands; they often arrive without INCI composition and may contain components banned in the EU (hydroquinone, lead, paraben-MR above the allowed level).
Dedicated colouring page: balayage — hand-painted natural gradient, 10-14 week maintenance, from €120.
