Lash lamination in Tallinn
What lash lamination is and who it suits
Lash lamination is a chemical treatment that lifts natural lashes from the root and curls them upward for 5-7 weeks. The result is visibly longer and fuller lashes without glued-on extensions — the treatment works with what you already have. Most clients who book the service have lashes that grow straight downward, are thinner in the middle, or have just removed extensions and need a break before going back.
Ketyswit Beauty performs lash lamination on the second floor of T1 Mall at Peterburi tee 2. We use the YumiLashes Original system, registered under EU Cosmetic Regulation 1223/2009 — the same brand used in London and Paris salons. Your eyes stay closed throughout, with silicone shaping pad and hydrogel under-eye patches protecting the lower lash line.
Step-by-step procedure
Each session takes 45-60 minutes and runs in four stages.
Stage one is cleansing and patch test review. The master cleans lashes and eye area with micellar water. For first-time clients we confirm the result of the patch test you completed 24 hours earlier behind the ear.
Stage two is shaping-pad placement. The master selects the correct silicone pad size — S, M or L, depending on lash length and desired curl depth. The pad is fixed onto the eyelid arch and each lash is placed onto the pad at the chosen angle using a lash brush. Precision matters here — wrong angle lifts lashes in the wrong direction.
Stage three is the lamination chemistry itself. The first lotion (cuticle-opening) sits on lashes for 7-10 minutes. During this time the lash structure softens and takes on the pad’s shape. The second lotion (fixing) sits for 5-7 minutes and locks in the new shape. The chemical part lasts 12-17 minutes. You can add Refectocil cream tinting in the same session for €5 extra, which darkens lashes for 3-4 weeks.
Stage four is nourishment. A keratin serum is applied to restore moisture lost during lamination. We carefully remove the pad, check the result, and you can open your eyes — the new shape is immediately visible.
Result duration and aftercare
Lash lamination lasts 5-7 weeks depending on natural lash growth rate and daily routine. For the first 24 hours, keep lashes away from water, sauna, swimming pools and makeup — the chemical fixation needs that window to fully set. We also recommend not wearing contact lenses for the first 24 hours.
After 24 hours you can wash and wear makeup including mascara as normal. For longer-lasting results, apply a drop of nourishing serum (RevitaLash or plain castor oil) to lash roots 2-3 times a week at night. Avoid oil-rich eye-makeup removers (oil dissolves the fixation), heavy sauna sessions in the first week, and rubbing eyes hard while sleeping.
For returning clients on a 6-week schedule the result stays consistent — newly grown lashes “train” alongside the previous lamination wave, avoiding a visible transition line.
Pricing and combinations
As a standalone treatment, lash lamination costs €35 and includes cleansing, shaping pad, lamination and the keratin serum. The most popular add-on is Refectocil tinting for €5 extra — laminated lashes look fuller when also tinted.
The “Brow and lash lamination set” costs €60 and saves €10 versus booking separately — the combined session runs about 90 minutes. We book both treatments back-to-back and you get the full transformation in one visit.
The patch test is free and mandatory for all new clients 24-48 hours before the first session. For returning clients with over 3 months since the last session we may require a fresh patch test depending on previous results.
Lamination vs lash extensions
These are two different services and preference depends on the result you want.
Extensions add synthetic lashes onto your natural ones individually, one at a time. The result is longer and fuller — up to 14 mm dramatic look. Maintenance is intensive (top-ups every 2-3 weeks, €35-50), no oil-based products around eyes, sleeping position matters.
Lamination only works with what you already have. The result is “more visible natural” without adding new material. Maintenance is minimal — 5-7 weeks with no top-ups, sleeping position does not matter, avoiding oil products only for the first 24 hours.
Most clients who choose lamination have previously tried extensions and want a clean break for their natural lashes. A combined approach: lamination for 6 months, then a 4-6 week break for full recovery, then potentially a new extension cycle or continuing with lamination.
When lamination is not suitable
Lamination is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding — chemical exposure for these groups has not been sufficiently studied. It also does not suit clients with open wounds, active herpes, eczema or active conjunctivitis around the eyes. An allergic reaction to Refectocil tinting also rules out lamination, because we use chemistry from the same family.
If you currently have classic or Y extensions on — those need to be fully removed 48 hours before lamination. Lamination on top of extensions does not work and can cause both synthetic and natural lashes to break.
Dry eyes or regular contact lens wear does not rule out lamination, but we may take breaks during the session and use additional hydrating gel as needed.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get lamination on top of extensions? No, extensions need to be fully removed 48 hours before lamination. The lamination chemistry does not bond with extension glue and can cause breakage.
Can I wear contact lenses afterwards? Not in the first 24 hours. After that, lenses are fine as normal.
Can laminated lashes break? Lamination itself does not damage the hair structure. Breakage comes from over-use (e.g., every 2 weeks, which is too frequent) or aggressive mechanical wear (rubbing eyes hard, removing old chemistry with wrong products).
How is lamination different from a lash curl (curler)? A traditional curl uses a mechanical clamp and lasts 1-2 days. Lamination is chemical and lasts 5-7 weeks — essentially the same effect, but long-lasting.
Can I book brow lamination on the same day? Yes, both fit in 90-100 minutes. The “brow + lash set” at €60 is the best price.
